LOWER COST THAN TRADITIONAL PIPING DESIGNS

We work with communities that have existing infrastructure, such as boreholes, storage tanks, and distributed public water taps. We connect our systems into this network to then pipe water to nearby homes. This allows us to not only get water into homes, but allows for the existing water system to continue to function as normal. On top of that, we schedule out water delivery times so that we may reduce peak water demand, thus reducing the sizes of our pumps, pipes, and treatment systems.

RELIABLY SIMPLE TO OPERATE

SIMPLIFIED DESIGNS REDUCE DOWN TIME

When we engineer and construct our systems, we incorporate design principles that minimize the processes required for operation so that rural communities can operate their own systems. This includes simplifying the process of turning on and off pumps and opening and closing valves, among others. While we do automate some processes, everything can easily be operated by hand when needed. This allows us to shy away from expensive and complicated automation equipment.

SAFER THAN JERRYCANS

PIPED WATER IS CLEANER THAN CARRYING IN JERRICANS

Since we are able to disinfect pipes and keep a residual level of chlorine in the water, we can supply water that is not only cleaner than the standard that is provided from public sources, but also can further disinfect storage containers, keeping water clean to WHO standards. This minimizes the risk of waterborne disease infection and creates dramatically improved health outcomes in our partner communities.

INCOME GENERATING

COMMUNITIES CAN REINVEST THEIR EARNINGS

In addition to the estimated $100 per year per household of economic impact from having access to water in the home (Equilo WE-WASH program) from improved access to education and income-generating activities, the water systems that we build are operationally profitable. This means that from the earnings of the system, the community can then reinvest them into expanding water access, improving sanitation, or whatever they desire.
